After getting her agricultural engineering degree in 2020, Léa Ottmann has joined the Institut technique des filières avicole, cunicole et piscicole (ITAVI) where she is the Animal Health Mission Head for poultry and rabbit. ITAVI is a French independent applied research organization covering all the issues and problems met by professional poultry, rabbit and fish breeders.
While in ITAVI, she was able to lead projects on animal welfare with the study of alternative solutions to conventional systems, and on environment with the study of water management in animal rearing. For the last two years, she has been focusing on the health aspect, by working specifically on zoonoses like salmonella and poultry parasitism.
