Caitlin Rivord joins us from Huntsville, Alabama, where she works with Aviagen North America. To get her career off to a successful start, she attended North Carolina State University and received two Bachelor of Science degrees: Animal Science and Poultry Science, with a minor in French. After her undergraduate studies, she worked for a short time in swine breeding and gestation before settling down for several years in the biotechnology industry, working in both in vivo pre-clinical research and in vitro pharmaceutical R&D. In 2019, she returned to the agriculture industry by joining Aviagen, where she has since received the US Poultry “Young Leaders Under 30” award in 2021, and successfully completed Aviagen’s inaugural ASPIRE Leadership Development Program in 2022. Since starting with Aviagen, Caitlin has also received her Master of Science degree in Business Analytics from the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
In her role in the Quality Assurance department at Aviagen, Caitlin works directly with farms, hatcheries, egg depots, and customers to ensure optimum chick quality. Her primary focus for achieving this goal is improving data collection methods and introducing new data analysis methods for identifying key features contributing to chick quality. She has had much success in improving internal processes in several departments, and she continues to lead the efforts towards using data to drive action.
