Why Discuss Inclusion Bodies Hepatitis in Breeders?

For over two years now, we have seen a rise in cases of inclusion bodies hepatitis in broilers. How can this be explained? Are breeders responsible? What are the means of control available to the industry?

Linda Lallier, DVM
Veterinary Services Manager Couvoir Boire et Frères Inc.

Dr. Linda Lallier graduated from the University of Montreal's Veterinary Medicine Faculty in 1985.

From 1985 to 2003, she practised veterinary medicine with large animals, mainly dairy cattle.

In 2003, she joined the Couvoir Boire et Frères inc. team. Her job was to control breeders flock health during the rearing and laying stages, implement and monitor biosecurity measures, provide veterinary support to commercial broilers and layers, as well as technical support during incubation to ensure the quality of the chicks.

She is a member of MAPAQ's EQCMA and poultry RAIZO health technical teams.

Finally, she co-owns a dairy farm with her son in central Quebec.
