How to Reduce Out of Nest Eggs with Community Nests

Community nests are introduced worldwide to reduce labor at the farms and lower the cost price of hatching eggs. Out of nest eggs (floor and slat eggs) are a common problem with community nests. During this presentation, the causes and ideas for solutions will be presented.

Winfridus Bakker is an internationally recognized poultry husbandry expert focused on heavy breeds from pedigree to broilers. Knowledge and expertise has been achieved through 41 years of “hands-on” field experience having worked closely, with the genetic departments of the 3 breeding companies, the last one being Cobb-Vantress in Siloam Springs, AR-USA.

Mr. Bakker obtained an Agricultural degree (BSAE) from the Tropical Agricultural College in Deventer (The Netherlands) in 1977. He specialized in Animal husbandry at “Specialized Animal Production Center” in Almelo (The Netherlands) in 1979.

He speaks several languages from which the most important ones are: English, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch & German and has lived in The Netherlands, Uruguay, Venezuela, Brazil and presently in USA.

For the last 15 years part of the World Technical Support Team for GGP, GP and PS at Cobb-Vantress. Responsible in providing technical support to the following areas: Latin America, Europe, Australia & New Zealand. He presently applying once a year technical audits to willing customers that want to move forward constantly.

Mr. Bakker constant workshops for companies worldwide to update field team members in management, equipment, housing and automation (mechanization).
